Allure of the Seas – Suite Class Ship Visit – September 2025

In September I had an inspiring weekend in Barcelona with Royal Caribbean, where I was invited to their inaugural Suite Class Ship Visit—a brilliant opportunity to deepen my understanding of their premium offering and see the 2025 amplification of Allure of the Seas.

There were 12 agents in total, spread across different agencies and geographical locations, brought together by five different flights. A great mix of perspectives, and a reminder of how valuable these shared learning opportunities can be.

It was a little over a 36-hour roundtrip, with an early morning flight out to Barcelona and a next-day evening flight home. We packed a lot into the short time, and it was absolutely worth it to experience an Oasis Class ship first-hand - especially as you don’t see them in home waters.

We started with an overnight at the Renaissance Barcelona Fira, which worked well as a pre-cruise base. Located in Plaza Europa, it’s around 10 minutes from the airport and about 15 minutes by taxi to the cruise terminal. While it’s not in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, it’s close to public transport and offers easy access to lots of the sights in Barcelona. The rooftop views, relaxed vibe, and modern design made it a great spot offering a relaxed welcome, rooftop dinner with city views. In the evening we had a great presentation from Royal Caribbean to set the tone of what we could expect to see the following day.

The ship tour was the real highlight though and a bit of a milestone for me. It was my first Royal Caribbean ship visit since 2011, and my first time onboard an Oasis Class ship (or anything bigger). While the ship itself is maybe too large for my own personal taste, I can absolutely see the appeal for the right customer. There’s a huge amount of choice, energy, and clever design packed into every deck.

We did get to see pretty much the whole of the ship during our time onboard - from entertainment venues and dining spaces to family areas and pool decks. But I haven’t really covered that here, as this visit was wholly focused on understanding what the Suite Life on Royal Caribbean is really like.

We explored a range of suite options onboard Allure of the Seas, each offering something different depending on who you’re travelling with:

  • Royal Loft Suite – the showstopper. A two-deck suite with floor-to-ceiling windows, a grand staircase, private balcony with whirlpool, and even a baby grand piano. Ideal for multigenerational families or anyone wanting that “wow” factor.

  • Crown Loft Suite – sleek, modern, and surprisingly spacious. Perfect for couples or solo travellers, with a split-level layout and a great balcony for morning coffee or evening drinks.
  • Ultimate Panoramic Suite – tucked right at the front of the ship with wraparound glass windows offering uninterrupted views. No balcony, but you don’t need one. It’s peaceful, cocoon-like, and ideal for scenic itineraries.
  • Aqua Theatre Suite – one of the most unique layouts onboard, with wraparound balconies overlooking the Aqua Theatre and Boardwalk. These suites are ideal for families or groups who want space, entertainment views, and a real sense of being part of the action. The outdoor space is huge—perfect for sailaways, private dining, or watching the evening shows from your own balcony.
Each suite falls into one of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Suite Class tiers: Sea, Sky, or Star - which determine the level of inclusions and personalised service:

  • Sea Class offers elevated comfort with access to Coastal Kitchen and priority boarding.
  • Sky Class adds concierge service, Suite Lounge access, and more tailored perks.
  • Star Class is the top tier, with all-inclusive benefits and the Royal Genie—a dedicated holiday planner who takes personalisation to the next level. Think of it as having your own onboard fixer: they’ll arrange dining, entertainment, private experiences, and even surprise treats based on your preferences. It’s not butler service - it’s more intuitive, more flexible, and designed to make your cruise feel completely bespoke.

It’s not just about bigger cabins - it’s about a more relaxed rhythm, thoughtful touches, and access to spaces that feel genuinely exclusive. The Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen are central to that experience, offering calm, curated dining and attentive service away from the crowds.

Lunch at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen in Central Park was a treat. This venue brings a fresh take on classic Italian dining - warm, rustic, and full of flavour. I started with their crispy calamari, followed by a perfectly cooked filet mignon with a side of king prawns (requested). Finished off with a classic tiramisu. We also sampled a few extras “for the table,” which gave us a great feel for the menu’s variety and the generous, family-style hospitality Giovanni’s is known for.

We’d planned to round things off with a go on the Ultimate Abyss - the tallest slide at sea, but an imminent storm put pay to that. So instead, we swapped adrenaline for atmosphere and enjoyed a cocktail at the Lime and Coconut Bar. A great spot to unwind, people-watch, and soak up the energy of the pool deck. Shame we had to head back to the airport!

This kind of visit isn’t just about seeing the ship, it’s about understanding what makes a premium experience feel personal. And for clients considering Suite Class, I’ve now got a much clearer picture of what that looks like onboard.
